Why use a Mortgage Advisor?

Here at Mermaid Mortgages we search the market on your behalf and recommend the best deal for your circumstances.
We have extensive and wide knowledge of the mortgages available from a multitude of ever-changing offers and lenders. We will always find and recommend the best deal – that is our promise to you.
If you wanted to find these on your own, it would involve a lot of research and talking through your personal circumstances many times, with many different lenders.
At Mermaid Mortgages, we often have access to exclusive deals not available on the high street. Applying through us also improves your chances of being accepted for a mortgage as we know which lenders are best suited to your particular circumstances.
This is particularly important if you don’t have a large deposit, haven’t been with your employer for long or if you’re self-employed.
Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
How Mermaid Mortgages find you
the best deal!
We have helped literally hundreds of people find their best mortgage and move home across Torbay. Our process is simple and uncomplicated. Here is how we work:
- Start the ball rolling and book a FREE Consultation with Lisa or Louisa, who will discuss your plans, your situation, and what are you hoping for.
- Once we have all your information, we extensively research the market and discover the best deal for you and your circumstances. We will also offer advice and suggestions where you could be able to get a better deal, again depending on your circumstances.
- Having settled upon the best offer for you, we then arrange an agreement in principle. Some estate agents will require this before putting your offer forward.
- Upon the acceptance of your offer, we set the wheels into motion for you. We liaise directly with estate agents, your solicitors, and yourself to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible.
- Once completed, and you have moved and settled happily into your new home, we then invoice for our fee.
Fees
Initial consultations are free of charge. A fee of up to £295 may be charged to arrange you mortgage. The fee is dependent on your circumstances. £95 paid on application, this fee is non-refundable. £200 is payable upon completion of your mortgage.

For me, it’s all about people. I take the time to listen, understand each client’s circumstances, and find the solution that genuinely suits them. Buying a home or reviewing finances can feel overwhelming at times, so I pride myself on being approachable, supportive, and easy to talk to throughout the process.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and making the most of life in Devon.
